Fox News Headline States: “Obama Flip Flops, Declares War On Marriage”

Fox News has since changed their headline but because of the ridiculousness of it and the extreme homophobia behind it, that someone supporting one group’s right to marriage and the rights/privileges is bestows is tantamount to a war on marriage just because that group is made of of same-sex couple is atrocious.

I will be boycotting not only Fox News, but the Fox network itself as well as any productions by Twentieth Century Fox and all of it’s affiliates until an apology is issued by the company.

Canada's The National Post Issues B.S. Apology on Anti-Trans Ad It Ran

What is more frustrating is that the original “apology” that they issued said “…in their singling out of a specific group of people who have made choices about their sexuality with which the group disagrees.” They have since changed this to read “… in their singling out of groups of people with whose sexuality the group disagrees”

The only reason they are apologizing is because they realize that if this blows up as an election issue there will be backlash against the Conservatives because most people in Ontario (particularly the key voting areas in and around Toronto) support Trans rights and education on issues like sexual orientation and gender diversity. The National Post being a right wing Conservative mouth piece wouldn’t want to do that.

The post has never really been supportive of LGBT issues in the past. During the same-sex marriage debate they ran a front page “article” which was more like an advertisement for an upcoming protest against same-sex marriage. When a similar protest in support of same-sex marriage was made (the March of Hearts) there was no pre-march article and the article on the actual march itself was relegated to the middle pages as if hiding it. Perhaps if this paper had shown any inkling to support the Queer (LGBT) community in the past I might take this apology more seriously but considering their track record they’re simply trying to save face.

Dan Savage sticks it to CNN.

I must agree the media needs to stop perpetuating homophobia by giving these crack pots a voice in intellectual debates where they simply shouldn’t be involved.

Having a discussion with people who believe that Gay people are evil, that there is a cure (despite all evidence), or that we make bad parents (despite all evidence to the contrary) is like trying to talk to someone about the earth being older than 10,000 years. No matter what the scientific evidence and all forms of logic, reason, and intelligence tells us the people on the otherside are so rooted in their close mindedness it is like talking to a wall. These people have no place in a reasonable intellectual discussion on such issues. It is unfortunate that “news” agencies feel the need to sell sensationalism rather than actual facts which is what the news should be doing. It has become more about money and much less about legitimate journalism - and the American news agencies are not alone. The CBC is just as guilty of this though they tend to favor the liberal side.

OMG - BBC For Shame

Simply reblogging what the BBC posted just doesn’t cover my disgust at what they have done.

By asking viewers/readers “Should homosexuals face execution” they are giving the side that thinks we should be killed validity, which is absolutely ridiculous. It’s the same as giving genocide validity. Killing people simply for something that a) they can’t help, and b) is doing NO harm to anyone else is fucked in the head and I cannot believe the BBC would even suggest that it is somehow okay by asking this question. Asking this question now at a time where countries currently have death sentances for homosexuals - Iran, Nigeria, soon to be Uganda to name a few - is like asking people back in 1939 “Should Jewish, Homosexual, and Disabled people face execution”. It is tasteless and obsene I think that the BBC owes the LGBT community of the entire world an apology.

Ugh I’m so pissed off right now!
